Eintracht Frankfurt have made it two wins out of two in their Bundesliga campaign so far, thanks to a 2-0 win over VfL Wolfsburg on Saturday.

The home side took the lead early on through a well-taken goal from Timo Diekmeier, who scored his first league goal for the club since joining Eintracht last summer.

And they doubled their advantage just before half-time when Max Kruse converted from close range after a fine move down the right flank.

Wolfsburg had chances to get back into the game but could only manage one shot on target in the second half as Eintracht continued to dominate proceedings.

It was a deserved win for Eintracht and one that will give them confidence heading into the final few games of the season. The win also means they have now won four of their last five matches in all competitions, with just one defeat in that time.

Eintracht coach Lucien Favre was pleased with his team's performance, saying: "We played very well today. We were solid defensively and created a lot of chances."

Favre added that he is happy with the progress his players have made this season, despite the tough competition in the Bundesliga.

"It's always difficult to keep winning, especially against teams like Wolfsburg," he said. "But we're doing well and I'm really happy with the progress we've made this season."
